Most Interesting Ones Don't Have Easy Answers

Science education is about encouraging students to ask great questions. A group of my 2nd graders were studying penguins and came up with 20 questions I couldn't answer. We chose a student to write down the questions on a poster sized piece of notebook paper. I asked their teacher if I could have her class for 30 min. during my prep so we could work on answering these questions. Not all questions could be answered and it was such a motivating learning experience. Keep those hard questions coming!
